I am not an all the time headphone user but I am a sometimes user. I have an interesting relationship with headphones. As a child I apparently found a way to just leave my ears blocked all the time by kind of reverse valsalva maneuvering anytime my ears opened and only recently opened them all the time and realized what I did. I found a way to have noise cancelation before it existed. I always thought I just couldn't hear great. Turns out I hear AMAZING and things other people don't (Yay electricity buzzing) I just muted myself.
