... Read moreWow, Day 10 of this spiritual journey has really flown by, and it's been such a profound experience! When I started this challenge, I was hoping for a clearer path, and honestly, giving everything to God has been the best decision. It's like I'm finally seeing the 'spiritual growth pictures' I've always imagined for my life, not just in my mind, but in how I feel and react. The peace I've found is truly indescribable, and it makes me want to dive even deeper into His word.
Speaking of diving deep, I've been spending so much time in the Gospel of John, and it's just amazing. One verse that really stood out to me recently, especially when thinking about God's incredible promises, is John chapter 5 verse 28. It says, 'Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice.' This verse, along with the one from the image, John 14:6, 'Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,' truly paints a vivid picture of hope and eternal life. It reminds me that Jesus isn't just a historical figure; He is literally our bridge to God, offering us a future beyond what we can imagine. It's such a comforting thought, especially when life gets tough.
This whole process of reading John nightly and taking notes, just like in the 'October Challenge' reading plan, has helped me understand Jesus' role in a whole new light. He really is 'the mediator of the new covenant.' What does that even mean, right? For me, it means that through Jesus, God made a new promise to us. Instead of relying on old laws or endless sacrifices, Jesus is the one who connects us directly to God's grace and forgiveness. He lived a perfect life, died for us, and rose again, making it possible for us to have a relationship with God and, ultimately, eternal life. It's a covenant built on love and grace, and reading John helps me grasp the depth of that love.
Before this challenge, I might have just skimmed over these concepts, but now, each chapter reveals more layers of truth. It's not always easy, some days are a real spiritual workout, but the reward of feeling closer to God and understanding His word better is totally worth it. If you're also on a journey to understand your faith or just looking for some encouragement, I highly recommend spending time in John. It’s truly a book that unveils the heart of God and the incredible gift of salvation through Jesus, our mediator. What scriptures have been speaking to you lately on your own path?
