Which puppy Should we Adopt?✨
Decided to adopt a shelter puppy. So many shelters around us are at full capacity. And we have so much love to give!
We can’t decide which one to go with me. (If I could I would take them all)
all breeds are unknown so if you have any idea of each of their breeds please share in comments!
For a backstory, we have a sweet, gentle female blue heeler, we have a dominating and alpha male blue heeler who runs the house but is gentle with puppies, then we have my sweet yorkie who is super attached to me and gets snappy and very jealous when one of the others come up to me while I’m holding her to be loved on. So I do worry about her adjusting to a new puppy.. I wish I wouldn’t have babied her so much when I first got her 😭
Adopting a puppy is an exciting yet complex decision. With numerous shelters filled to capacity, there's an overwhelming choice of breeds and personalities. When thinking about adoption, consider the dynamics of your current pets. If you have a gentle pet like a blue heeler, it’s crucial to evaluate how they might react to a new, dominating puppy. It's also essential to address the needs and behaviors of each puppy. For instance, the eight-week-old super feisty puppy might seek a lot of attention and could be more energetic and playful, while the sweet and gentle character would likely adapt well to a calm environment. New puppy owners should be prepared for adjustments in household dynamics; a jealous dog, like the mentioned yorkie, may need additional care during this transition. Before committing to a new family member, ensure you're ready for the responsibilities of a puppy; training, socialization, and proper introductions to existing pets will ensure a harmonious home. To make an informed decision, visiting local shelters and spending time with potential puppies can help gauge their energy levels and compatibilities.
