A Digital Diary

Releasing can be one of the hardest things to do once you become comfortable in your situation.

Unfortunately that in itself can be detrimental to one’s growth.

Everyday we have the opportunity to grow, create, breathe. So what’s stopping us from living out our most wildest dreams?

Having a hard time letting go? Here’s what you can do 👉🏽

1. Acknowledge What You’re Holding Onto

• Journaling can help bring clarity to these feelings.

2. Accept Your Emotions

• Allow yourself to feel the pain, sadness, or anger associated with the situation. Suppressing emotions only makes them harder to release.

3. Reframe Your Perspective

• Shift your focus from what you’re losing to what you’re gaining (e.g., freedom, peace, growth).

4. Practice Forgiveness

• Forgive others and yourself. Forgiveness is not about condoning harmful actions but releasing the hold they have on you.

5. Release Control

• Understand that you cannot control everything or everyone. Focus on what you can influence: your actions and reactions.

6. Engage in Mindfulness Practices and Prayer

• Meditate or engage in mindful breathing to bring your focus to the present moment rather than dwelling on the past.

7. Set Boundaries

• If the situation involves other people, establish healthy boundaries to protect your peace.

• Distance yourself from triggers that may reignite attachment or negative feelings.

8. Focus on Self-Care and Growth

• Nurture yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Pursue activities that bring you joy, fulfillment, and a sense of accomplishment.

9. Seek Support

• Talk to trusted friends, family, or a therapist. Sharing your feelings can help lighten the burden.

• Consider joining support groups or communities that resonate with your experience.

10. Be Patient with Yourself

• Letting go is not a linear process; there will be ups and downs. Celebrate small progress without being hard on yourself for setbacks.
