... Read moreLiving with cancer is not just a physical challenge but an emotional and mental journey as well. As a survivor, I have often found myself balancing the weight of my health struggles with the responsibilities towards my family. Knowing that my family depends on me to survive can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when battling the invisible battles of fear and uncertainty. In my experience, embracing vulnerability has been a powerful tool. It’s okay to acknowledge feelings of being a "teenage dirtbag in her 30's," as the raw honesty helps in coping with the realities of living with cancer. Connecting with others who understand this unique struggle—whether through support groups or online communities—can provide much-needed encouragement and a sense of not being alone. Incorporating small, daily practices like mindfulness, gentle exercise, and creative outlets helped me maintain a sense of normalcy and hope. It’s important to celebrate the small victories, such as a good day or an unexpected laugh, because these moments build resilience. Remember that your identity isn’t just defined by illness but also by your spirit and determination to keep moving forward for both yourself and those who care for you.
