Love a tired autism Mom

I wanted to share something that’s been weighing heavily on my heart.

Right now, I am struggling. I know I hide it because that’s what I’ve always done but my son is going through another hormonal stage, and his outbursts have increased. At this point, I need the mental clarity to focus on finding the best ways to support him and help him regulate through these challenges.

Because of that, I’ll be stepping away from social media for a little while.

Mentally, I just don’t have any extra space right now. I’ve missed work, missed events, and missed opportunities because our family has needed me. As much as I love creating content and connecting with all of you, I can’t carry everything at once.

I’m trying to find a balance between home, work, and social media. Social media has always been my creative outlet, my way of expressing myself, but right now, my family has to come first.

A huge change is about to happen in our household, and my focus needs to be on helping Tytan navigate yet another transition with the love, patience, and support he deserves.

To everyone who has followed our journey, encouraged us, and shown us so much kindness over the years….. thank you. Your love and support have meant more than you’ll ever know.

I’m just taking the time I need to be present for my family. I hope to be back when we’re in a better place.

Thank you for understanding, and thank you for always loving us through every season. ❤️ you guys always show love and just know I know. I won’t be able to respond to anyone but I know and for that I am forever grateful❤️

... Read moreBeing a parent of a child with autism comes with unique and ongoing challenges, especially during phases of hormonal changes and behavioral outbursts. I have experienced firsthand how these moments can test a parent's emotional reserves and mental well-being. It’s important to accept that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and to take necessary breaks to recharge. In my journey, prioritizing mental clarity helped me find better ways to support my child’s regulation and emotional needs. Understanding that hormonal stages can bring sudden changes in behavior, I learned the importance of patience and empathy. Often, I set aside time for mindfulness practices and sought communities where I could share experiences and receive encouragement. Balancing home responsibilities, work commitments, and maintaining a presence on social media as an outlet can quickly become exhausting. Social media may be creative and cathartic, but it’s essential to recognize when stepping back is necessary for family priorities. Such breaks do not disconnect you from your community—they reaffirm your commitment to being present where it matters most. Another important aspect is the acknowledgement of the mental health toll that caring for an autistic child can take. Seeking support from therapists or support groups for autism parents can provide invaluable tools for coping and resilience. It’s also a reminder that self-care is not selfish; it empowers you to be a stronger advocate for your child. Finally, I found that sharing my authentic journey, including the tough days and the love that drives me, helps reduce stigma around autism and mental health struggles. If you resonate with these experiences, remember you are not alone, and your efforts are deeply meaningful. Love and patience remain the cornerstone as we navigate through every season of this journey together.
