As a devoted Dungeons & Dragons player, few settings spark my imagination quite like the legendary City of Brass. While some might think of the popular video game or the captivating book series when they hear "City of Brass," for us tabletop adventurers, it's a completely different beast – a scorching metropolis in the heart of the Elemental Plane of Fire, ruled by the notorious Efreeti. And let me tell you, venturing into its dark underbelly, specifically the sewers, is an experience unlike any other. My latest campaign took us deep into these fiery, treacherous tunnels, and it was pure chaos from start to finish. Imagine this: you're navigating cramped, humid passages, and suddenly, *everything is on fire*! It’s not just enemies; the environment itself becomes a character, with magma flows, steam vents, and elemental hazards around every corner. We found ourselves constantly on edge, not knowing if the next turn would bring us face-to-face with a fire elemental or simply a collapsing tunnel. One moment that still stands out involved us desperately *throwing objects into the next tunnel*, trying to create a diversion or block a chokepoint. Direct combat isn't always the answer in such tight spaces. Sometimes, strategic thinking and utilizing the environment are your best weapons. We had to wait for anybody's turn to make a move, often holding actions to react to the unpredictable flow of fire and foes. It was a true test of our party's coordination. My trusty *wolf companion was still here*, thankfully, proving invaluable in scouting ahead and engaging smaller threats. And for those bigger, nastier creatures lurking in the depths? There's nothing quite like a well-placed spell. My fellow adventurer’s cloud of daggers spell was a lifesaver, cutting down swarms of smaller, fiery vermin that tried to overwhelm us. We learned quickly that in the *sewers of the City of Brass*, you need every trick in the book – and a few new ones – to survive. If you're a dungeon master looking for an unforgettable challenge or a player seeking an epic, high-stakes adventure, I highly recommend exploring this infernal locale. Just make sure your fire resistance is up to snuff!
