📍Deleted Photos? Recover on Windows & macOS
Think your photos are gone forever? Not so fast. This post shows the fastest ways to recover them before they disappear permanently. Works for Windows, mapost
Losing precious photos by accident can be really stressful, but I’ve found that with the right steps, you can usually get them back without too much hassle. On Windows, the first thing I always do is check the Recycle Bin since deleted files often hang out there for days. It’s quick to restore photos from there by right-clicking and selecting Restore. If the photos aren’t in the Recycle Bin, I next open the Photos app and look under the Recently Deleted album, which keeps photos for about 30 days. It’s great for an easy recovery if you realize the deletion soon enough. For files that don’t appear in these places, I recommend trying data recovery software like MyRecover. This tool scans your entire drive for lost files and lets you filter by image types like JPG and PNG for easier searching. It’s worked well for me when photos seemed permanently lost. On macOS, the process is very similar. The Trash folder is your first stop, followed by the Photos app’s Recently Deleted album. If those don’t have your pictures, recovery software can scan deeper into your drive. One tip I’ve learned is to avoid saving new files to the drive where the photos were deleted, as it may overwrite the data and make recovery impossible. Also, regular backups to external drives or cloud services are invaluable to prevent photo loss in the first place. Overall, these built-in tools combined with trustworthy recovery software can save your treasured memories if a deletion accident happens. Just remember to act quickly for the best chance of success!
