1 John 2:18-23 NKJV

Deceptions of the Last Hour

18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. #bealert #christalone #lasthour #faithoverfear

... Read moreIn today's world, the message from 1 John 2:18-23 remains profoundly relevant. The passage warns believers to be vigilant because the 'last hour' involves many antichrists who have already appeared, signaling times of spiritual deception. This highlights the urgency for Christians to discern truth from falsehood carefully. The concept of antichrists is not merely historical; it represents individuals or influences that deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God and seek to lead believers astray. Recognizing this deception requires spiritual anointing—an understanding and knowledge given by the Holy Spirit, enabling believers to navigate through false teachings. Furthermore, the text emphasizes the importance of abiding in community and truth. Those who depart from the fellowship due to false teachings reveal that they were never truly part of the faith community. This serves as a reminder that genuine faith fosters perseverance and unity among believers. This passage also strengthens the believer's confidence by clarifying that no lie originates from the truth. Hence, those who affirm Jesus as Christ have a firm foundation, connected to both the Father and the Son, while those who deny Him reveal an opposing spirit. Studying these scriptures encourages Christians to maintain faith and vigilance in an age where misinformation and spiritual deception can be subtle and pervasive. By embracing the anointing from the Holy One, believers can stand firm against antichrists and uphold the truth, living out 'faith over fear' amid challenges. In practical terms, this means regularly engaging with scripture, discerning teachings critically, and growing a supportive faith community committed to Christ alone. Staying alert is more than a warning—it's an invitation to deeper spiritual awareness and steadfast trust in God's promises.
