Trust & Faith
That is what I was thinking too. We can become victims or successes through the choices we make. God does not force our hand. He gives us free will, guidance through His Word, and the example of Jesus Christ.
Jesus walked this earth and faced temptation, suffering, rejection, and pain, yet He remained faithful. That strengthens and encourages us because He showed us that through faith, obedience, and trusting God, we can endure also.
I believe God can use hardships to humble us, shape us, and draw us closer to Him, but not every difficult situation is God forcing suffering on us. Many times, our choices and the brokenness of this world bring consequences.
