full-time job but i canโ€™t afford life ๐Ÿ’ธ

i work 40 hours a week. sometimes more. i clock in, do my job, follow the rules. but after i pay rent, gas, groceries, and billsโ€ฆ thereโ€™s nothing left. like literally nothing.

no savings. no fun money. just surviving until the next paycheck.

and itโ€™s not like iโ€™m out here shopping or eating out every day. iโ€™m just trying to live. and even that feels too expensive now.

i thought full-time work meant stability. being able to breathe a little. but it feels like iโ€™m working just to stay broke.

this canโ€™t be what โ€œmaking itโ€ is supposed to feel like in america. anyone else feel stuck like this?

... Read moreWorking long hours can often lead to surprising financial struggles, especially given the rising cost of living. Many full-time employees find themselves in a constant cycle of working just to stay afloat, with little left for savings or leisure. This reality is increasingly common in the modern economy, where wages have not kept pace with inflation and living expenses continually rise. Many individuals report feelings of frustration and despair, believing that they should be enjoying life rather than merely surviving. Itโ€™s essential to talk about these issues, as communities often share similar experiences and can offer support and practical advice. If you're feeling overwhelmed by finances, you might consider reviewing your budget, exploring new job opportunities, or seeking financial advice to better manage your expenses. Resources such as community forums and financial literacy programs can provide guidance and support for those struggling in similar situations. Remember, youโ€™re not alone in feeling stuck โ€“ many people are facing the same challenges of balancing work and financial health.

Itโ€™s ridiculous that weโ€™re out here working full time jobs, second or third jobs, side hustles, and still canโ€™t afford life. Itโ€™s not supposed to be this way. The rich get richer and we keep getting crumbs. And they act like we should be beyond grateful for those crumbsโ€ฆ

I question myself on off days when I go run errands and see so many people out on a work day and ask myself what am I doing wrong? How can it be so many people not working on a work day? I want to be able to do what they do and just live real life. Most of our life is at work. We canโ€™t enjoy life. Itโ€™s sad. I donโ€™t know my purpose. All Iโ€™ve ever known is struggle when I try so hard not to.
