Asheville during the holidays

I was able to find joy in the wake of destruction.

Asheville suffered a lot from hurricane Helene, but we managed to come together to make the holidays feel normal.

Grove Park Inn hosted their annual gingerbread competition. I got the cookies and cream hot chocolate and it honestly might change the way I make them at home! All the displays are so impressive but this house was my favorite. And the little mice! ❤️

Also the NC Arboretum had their Winter Lights display. A million sparkly lights and a trip to the gift shop brightened my holidays. These mushrooms were so cute and reminded me of that one dance in Fantasia.

Asheville shines brightly during the holiday season, especially after the challenges brought by Hurricane Helene. The gingerbread house competition at Grove Park Inn is a must-see, showcasing incredible artistry with a whimsical touch—perfect for family outings. Guests can enjoy diverse flavors, including the delightful cookies and cream hot chocolate. Meanwhile, the NC Arboretum presents its spectacular Winter Lights display, transforming the gardens into a magical scene with a million twinkling lights. Families can wander through the colorful illuminated displays, making it a perfect festive experience. The great combination of community spirit, spectacular decorations, and delicious treats truly captures the essence of the holiday season in Asheville.
