Memorial weekend
This was memorial weekend and while we know this is not happy holiday, yes we know! But we appreciate the sacrifices that they had done for us in order to give us the freedom we have. I grew up being in military service family and all of them served in army and while I’m lucky enough none of them hadn’t die during their services, there are others that didn’t make it.
Memorial Weekend serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by military members. It’s essential to not only commemorate those who have fallen but also to engage with activities that honor their memory. One way to do this is by visiting local memorials or participating in community events dedicated to veterans. Many people choose to volunteer or donate to veterans' organizations during this time, fostering a spirit of gratitude and remembrance. Additionally, sharing stories about family members who served can create a personal connection to the holiday, helping younger generations understand the significance of Memorial Weekend. Many families also choose to hold small gatherings or picnics, integrating moments of reflection into their celebrations. Whether through a moment of silence, storytelling, or even engaging in a charitable act, each gesture counts toward honoring those who have sacrificed everything. In 2023, numerous online resources and articles highlight the best ways to commemorate this weekend, enriching an understanding of its true meaning. Exploring local history, attending parades, or simply taking time to reflect provide opportunities for appreciation that go beyond the festivities. As we come together this Memorial Weekend, let us remember not only those lost but also the enduring legacy of freedom they have bequeathed to us.
