Why I use a credit union for business and personal banking

2/19 Edited to

... Read moreIn my experience, using a credit union for both business and personal banking has been a game-changer. One of the biggest advantages is the personalized customer service you receive, which is often hard to find at large traditional banks. For instance, when I started using Mountain America Credit Union, the staff took the time to understand my business needs as well as my personal financial goals, offering tailored solutions rather than one-size-fits-all products. Another significant benefit is the lower fees and better interest rates that credit unions typically offer. Since they are member-owned and not-for-profit institutions, the goal is to serve members rather than maximize profits, which translates into real savings for me. This has helped me manage my business expenses better and also grow my personal savings more effectively. Moreover, credit unions often have more flexible lending policies. When I needed a small business loan, the approval process at the credit union was straightforward and less intimidating compared to bigger banks. They considered the overall health of my business and personal credit, making it easier to secure a loan to support my business expansion. I also appreciate the community focus of credit unions like Mountain America. Knowing that my deposits help fund local projects and support other community members gives me peace of mind and adds a sense of purpose to my banking choices. Plus, credit unions usually provide educational resources and financial advice, which helped me make smarter financial decisions. Overall, choosing a credit union has provided me with a trustworthy, affordable, and supportive banking experience, both for my business and personal finances. For anyone weighing their options, I'd highly recommend checking out what credit unions offer before settling on a traditional bank.
