Free food pantry, day 110:
Trying to get pallets of
stuff for women's shelters
During my ongoing free food pantry project, one of the most rewarding experiences has been finding ways to provide support beyond just food. After learning how rarely women's shelters receive donations of essential items like makeup, skincare, and feminine hygiene products, I became motivated to change that. These items are often considered luxuries but can greatly boost the confidence and well-being of women facing difficult situations. To make this happen, I started researching third-party pallet liquidation sellers and reached out to well-known retailers with overstock departments, such as Ulta Beauty. The goal was to source makeup and skincare products in bulk to donate directly to women's shelters and support organizations. Contacting US manufacturers directly also helped in finding the lowest possible prices while ensuring quality. This approach not only provides much-needed goods but also gives shelters a break from their usual hardships, offering comfort and dignity through products that can brighten someone's day. It’s a wonderful feeling to hand out pallets full of items that these organizations can distribute immediately. If you're interested in contributing, consider looking into liquidation pallets or bulk purchasing options from trusted beauty brands. Also, engaging with organizations to understand their specific needs can help tailor your donations for maximum impact. Sharing this journey through social media and surveys can encourage others to join in, amplifying the support network for women's shelters. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and positive change.
