Twelve years
Twelve years.
That’s how long I poured my heart into my embroidery business.
It wasn’t just a business… it was part of who I was.
Walking away was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. I questioned everything. I wondered if I was making a mistake.
Looking back now, I realize God wasn’t asking me to give up my dream. He was preparing me for a new one.
Today, I have more time with my family, more peace, and a life that looks different than I imagined, but so much richer than I expected.
If you’re holding onto something simply because you’ve invested years into it, maybe this is your reminder that it’s okay for dreams to change.
Have you ever had to close one chapter to begin another?
Leaving behind a business that you've nurtured for over a decade is undeniably a profound decision — it’s more than just closing a venture; it’s letting go of a part of your identity. From personal experience, stepping away from something so deeply intertwined with my sense of self initially felt like losing a piece of who I was. The fear of regret and doubts about whether I made the right choice were constant companions. What I came to realize through this challenging transition was that sometimes, what feels like an ending is actually a new beginning. By retiring the business I had devoted years to, I found unexpected freedom — more quality time with loved ones, renewed inner peace, and the chance to explore passions that had been sidelined. This experience taught me that the value of a dream isn’t solely in how long we hold onto it, but in how it shapes us and prepares us for future joys. When the daily grind and personal sacrifices begin to overshadow your well-being, it’s important to listen closely to your inner voice and recognize when it’s time to pivot. For those who hesitate to let go because of the time invested, know this: dreams aren’t set in stone. They evolve alongside us. Your journey may lead to unexpected places — ones richer and more fulfilling than you ever imagined. Embracing change and having faith in the timing of life can bring profound peace. If you’re contemplating closing one chapter to start another, remember that this transition is part of growth. It’s okay to grieve, to question, and to hope. Ultimately, moving forward opens doors to new dreams that await your courage and willingness to embrace them.
