Ask for help!

Sometimes we try to handle life’s “small stones” on our own — Little issues, temptations, habits, frustrations.

Instead of bringing them to God immediately, we attempt to fix them in our own strength. And often, we make a bigger mess.

Just let God be God and help you. Trying to fix “the problem” might tumble you over completely.

Small problems handed to God become opportunities for Him to show His grace.

Long story short, ask for help!

The image of someone trying to shake a stone off their shoe but ending up dirtied on their feet, hands, and backside perfectly illustrates what happens when we try to fix problems by ourselves without seeking help. When we attempt to clean these difficulties in our own strength, we may inadvertently worsen the situation, just like getting more parts of ourselves dirty. This metaphor encourages a deeper reflection on how we handle temptations, habits, and frustrations. Instead of wrestling alone, turning to God with even the smallest concerns invites His intervention and grace. By letting God be God, we relinquish control and allow a higher power to guide us through challenges rather than tumbling over them on our own. In Christian faith, this act of surrender is not a sign of weakness but a demonstration of trust. When we bring our 'small stones'—the distractions, temptations, and irritations—to God, these issues become opportunities for growth and blessings, leading to greater spiritual strength and resilience. Practical ways to implement this include daily prayer focused on asking for guidance, journaling your struggles and surrendering them in faith, and seeking community support where shared experiences reinforce this approach. Over time, this mindset shift can help reduce anxiety over minor troubles and build a habit of seeking God's help first. Remember, the goal isn't to ignore challenges but to change how we approach them. By asking for help early and often, you allow grace to work in your daily life, transforming burdens into blessings and making your spiritual journey richer and more peaceful.
