Honestly, it feels like everyone's wondering the same thing: is Vaseline good for tanning? And more importantly, does Vaseline attract sun for a deeper glow? I've been experimenting, and let me tell you, it's a bit of a mixed bag! First off, let's talk about Vaseline. Many of us think slathering on petroleum jelly might help us get a darker tan. The idea is that it locks in moisture, making skin feel super soft and hydrated, similar to using body oil for soft skin. However, Vaseline has no SPF. While Vaseline itself isn't a magical sun magnet, it can create a barrier on your skin that might intensify the sun's rays. It can prevent water droplets from evaporating, or create a smooth, reflective surface. This could lead to a quicker tan because your skin is getting a more concentrated dose of UV, but it also significantly increases your risk of severe sunburn. I’ve noticed my skin feels warmer faster, but that’s not always a good sign. It's a fine line between a glow and a lobster look! So, while you might feel like you're getting a deeper tan, you're also putting your skin at a higher risk. And since you saw my post, you know I love my heart-shaped stickers! Using stickers for tanning is such a fun way to get a cute, unique tan line. I usually apply my red heart-shaped stickers right before I head into the tanning booth. The trick is to make sure your skin is clean and dry where you're placing them, so they stick really well and you get crisp lines. I've found that moving around too much can sometimes make them shift, which ruins the perfect heart! After my session, I carefully peel them off to reveal my little tan art. It’s always a fun surprise to see how they turn out! After any tanning session, whether you use Vaseline or not, hydration is key. I always make sure to moisturize thoroughly afterward.
