Oud-y and mysterious

This is a VERY OUD forward perfume. This can definitely be used for men. If you’re new to oud (like I was when I bought) this may be diving head first 🫣. Upon spraying this I was like NOPE, NO, and HECK NO! But I said let me be fair and really give it a try. I sprayed and it reminded me of leather immediately. I let it set and it softened a TINY bit and I was like ok not so bad but still giving leather to me. So I do what I always do and added vanilla and it was softened, sweetened and gave dark and mysterious. My husband asked what I was wearing as it smelled good. I usually wear a blend of fragrance types but not these types so it was surprised to have him like it. So go ahead try some new fragrances. MAY I SUGGEST BUYING AFFORDABLE ONES FIRST, unless you can test before purchasing! ❤️
What’s something you tried and was shocked you like?
Trying oud perfumes for the first time can be quite an experience, especially when you encounter a scent as bold and distinctive as the one described here. Oud, often referred to as 'liquid gold' in the fragrance world, is known for its rich, woody, and sometimes smoky aroma. It can feel intense and even overwhelming at first, much like the initial reaction shared in the article when the scent reminded of leather. From my own experience, the key to embracing oud is patience and experimentation. Allowing the fragrance to settle on your skin can reveal softer, more complex notes that transform its character. For instance, pairing oud with sweeter elements like vanilla not only softens the initial sharpness but also introduces a captivating contrast—dark yet sweet and mysteriously inviting. It's also worth noting that oud fragrances tend to be versatile. While traditionally favored by men, many women find these scents empowering and unique, making them a wonderful unisex option. When testing oud, try layering it with other vanilla or floral notes to personalize the aroma and make it more accessible. One tip for those new to oud is to start with affordable options or sample sizes. This approach allows you to explore different blends without committing to a full bottle. Visiting stores where you can test scents on your skin before buying can save you from unpleasant surprises. Brands like ROYALE FLAIR Sapil, mentioned in the image OCR, offer some intriguing and approachable oud variations worth exploring. Ultimately, stepping out of your fragrance comfort zone can lead to delightful discoveries. Just like the author’s husband unexpectedly appreciating the scent, your new favorite fragrance might come from trying something boldly different. So go ahead, dive into the world of oud perfumes, and find your own signature scent that tells a story of darkness, sweetness, and mystery.
