I had high hopes for this one, the setup was solid: a snowed-in house, a missing psychologist, and a mystery that slowly unravels. But the deeper I got, the more disconnected it all felt.

Honestly, it turned into a string of random murders that didn’t add up or feel believable. The ending? Way too extreme and out of nowhere. It didn’t feel earned or satisfying, just… chaotic.

If you enjoy fast-paced thrillers, this might still be a quick read but for me, it missed the mark.

Did you read it? I’m curious if anyone else felt the same.

However, as the plot unfolds, many readers have expressed discontent with its execution. Some suggest that the series of seemingly random murders pulls the narrative into disarray, making it hard to connect the dots or believe in the story's flow. This disconnect ultimately detracts from the reading experience. For thrill-seekers who crave rapid-fire plots, this book may still serve as a quick read. Nonetheless, even in fast-paced thrillers, a cohesive plot remains essential for satisfaction. As many reviewers have noted, an unearned chaotic ending leaves readers feeling frustrated rather than fulfilled.
