New Bougie French Hotel in Singapore
@mamasheltersingapore is a new stylish lifestyle hotel that had just sprung up along Kiliney Road, a 5-minute walk from Somerset MRT station. It is the first Asia-Pacific property from the Mama Shelter brand under the Accor hospitality group. @all.accor_asia
Its design-heavy aesthetics made this hotel stood out from the other boutique hotels in Singapore. The moment you enter the lobby, you will be greeted with loud and bold splashes of colours from the floor to ceiling and playful graphics. The whole vibrant space is furnished with retro-modern furniture. They have an all-day dining restaurant on level 1 and a poolside rooftop bar on 7th floor. There’s no gym or spa.
There are 3 different room types: Mama (Double room), Mama Bunk or Mama with Terrace (Double room with terrace)
We stayed in Mama, a 17-sqm room equipped with all the basic hotel amenities. It has a split toilet and shower layout. The room is compact but still relatively comfortable. It has a double bed (152 x 200cm) which is ultra comfy. They provide organic bath amenities like dental kit, 3-in-1 soap gel (for body, hair and hands) and hair conditioner. There’s also a safe under the bedside table. There’s USB-C sockets and 3-pin power sockets.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The eclectic and vibrant interior gives the hotel a unique character. Hotel is suited for couples and small families. Food is relatively good and hotel guests get to enjoy 20% at the bar and restaurant.
🤑: from SGD240 per night (subjected to changes base on the room type and dates)
🍔MAMA Happy Meal for 2 (with 2 alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks) ($39.90++ for a limited period of time) (Do note that the burger is slightly bigger than a slider.)

Staying at Mama Shelter Singapore was a refreshing experience that truly captured the essence of a bougie French lifestyle with a local twist. The hotel's bold use of colors and retro-modern decor sets it apart from other boutique hotels around the city, creating an atmosphere that feels both lively and intimate. From my visit, I found that the location is incredibly convenient for exploring central Singapore, especially being just a 5-minute stroll from Somerset MRT station. The room I stayed in was one of the Mama types—a cozy 17 square meters but efficiently laid out to maximize comfort. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches like organic bath amenities and multiple charging options including USB-C sockets. The split toilet and shower layout proved practical, and the double bed was indeed ultra comfy, perfect to unwind after a day out. One highlight that stood out was the MAMA Happy Meal promotion, which offered a unique dining experience pairing flavorful burgers slightly larger than sliders with alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks at a great value. This complemented the hotel’s focus on vibrant culinary and social scenes, particularly with the rooftop pool bar on the 7th floor where guests enjoyed a scenic hangout spot. Though the hotel lacks a gym or spa, it felt balanced by the energetic interior design and friendly service. The retro-inspired graphics and colorful details make it much more than just a place to sleep—it’s an immersive lifestyle destination reflecting modern French flair mixed with Singapore’s cosmopolitan vibe. Overall, Mama Shelter Singapore is an excellent option for travelers seeking something stylish yet affordable in the heart of the city. Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a small family wanting a comfortable base with character, this hotel delivers on both comfort and design. Plus, the 20% discount for hotel guests at the bar and restaurant adds nice value to the overall stay. I’d definitely recommend keeping this hotel on your shortlist when planning a Singapore trip, especially if you appreciate eclectic aesthetics combined with practical amenities.
