🇸🇰 First national quantum communications network launched

🇸🇰 Slovakia went a step further! Launched the first national quantum communications network to strengthen European cyber security. 🛡️✨

The era of ultimate information security has arrived! Slovakia has recently announced the launch of the first national quantum communications network (skQCI), which is a milestone in bringing the country into a sustainable secure digital age. 🚀

Why is this exciting? 🤔

This network is not just for general use, but is designed to protect the highest-value public institutions and particularly sensitive entities, such as:

✅ presidential palace.

✅ National Security Agency.

✅ Slovak Academy of Sciences (IPSAS) in Bratislava.

What is the centerpiece of this technology? 💡

The project uses Hybrid Architecture technology, a combination of:

🔹 Quantum Key Distribution (QKD): High Security Quantum Password Distribution

🔹 Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC): A Secret Code System That Resist Future Quantum Computer Attacks

The use of this hybrid model allows Slovakia to confidently exchange key information both within the city and between remote areas, with the goal of connecting it to the EuroQCI project, a secure communications infrastructure covering the entire continent of Europe. 🇪🇺

Behind the success. 🤝

The project emerged from the collaboration of IonQ (through its subsidiary ID Quantique) and the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IPSAS) under the support of the National Center for Quantum Technology (QUTE.sk), which IonQ itself is expanding its global quantum technology base in Switzerland, Italy, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

In addition, IonQ has an amazing goal, aiming to reach 2 million cubits by 2030 to support applications ranging from defense to the invention of new drugs. 💊🛡️

This movement not only protected Slovakia, but also made them the new leaders in European quantum security, preparing for a future in which all communications would be safely interconnected, carefree.
