ผมเคยประสบปัญหานอนเต็มอิ่มแล้วแต่ยังรู้สึกสมองตื้อ คิดอะไรไม่ออก จนได้ลองเปลี่ยนมา "ปิดไฟนอน" ให้ห้องมืดสนิท พบว่าการนอนของผมดีขึ้นมากจริงๆ จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว ผมสังเกตว่าแสงนิดๆ หน่อยๆ เช่น ไฟสถานะสายชาร์จหรือแสงจากหน้าต่างส่งผลต่อการหลับลึกอย่างที่บทความบอกไว้ เมื่อลองปิดไฟทุกดวง ดึงผ้าม่านให้มิดชิด ปิดมือถือก่อนนอนราว 1 ชั่วโมง สมองรู้สึกสดชื่นขึ้นมาก ตื่นเช้ามาไม่ล้าหรือมึนงง เพื่อนบางคนชอบเปิดไฟนีออนเปิดไว้ระหว่างนอนเพราะกลัวมืด พอแนะนำให้ลองลดแสงเพื่อลองชาร์จแบตสมอง ปรับเป็นมืดทั้งห้อง ก็รายงานว่าได้ผลดีขึ้นเช่นกัน นอกจากนี้ การนอนในความมืดยังช่วยกระตุ้นฮอร์โมนเมลาโทนินให้ทำงานเต็มที่ มีผลช่วยให้วงจรนาฬิกาชีวภาพดีขึ้น ลดความเครียดและซ่อมแซมสมองได้มีประสิทธิภาพมาก ถ้าคุณกำลังมีปัญหานอนแล้วไม่สดชื่น ผมแนะนำให้ลองจัดสภาพแวดล้อมห้องนอนให้มืดที่สุด ปิดทุกแสงรบกวนก่อนนอน แต่ถ้าไม่ชอบมืดสนิท อาจใช้ผ้าปิดตาหรือเพิ่มม่านทึบ เพื่อช่วยสมองพักผ่อน สุดท้าย ผมอยากบอกว่าการปิดไฟนอนในความมืดสนิทไม่ใช่แค่ช่วยให้นอนหลับดีขึ้นแต่ยังเหมือนการชาร์จพลังสมองอย่างแท้จริง เหมือนเราซื้อเวลาให้สมองได้รีเซ็ตตัวเองก่อนเริ่มวันใหม่ครับ
