The girl in this picture is currently only 71 years old. ⏳✨

Back in 1960, Ruby Bridges, just six years old, made history as the first black child to enter a white elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana. 🎒👧🏾

That change was not easy...

🚨 She faced a group of people who gathered to protest against

🚨 White parents take their children out of school.

🚨 You have to sit alone for lunch every day.

🚨 And there must be U.S. Marshals walking around the school for the entire school year!

Many may look at this black-and-white photo and think that the fight against equality is just a "distant past" in 📖 textbooks, but do you know that?..The woman who passed through the hardest of her time is still alive, and she's only 71 years old! (about the same age as our grandmother) 👵🏾✨

At the age when many were resting, Ruby remained devoted to discussing the day's experiences, writing a children's book, and constantly reminding America that the age of human rights was demanding...It just happened recently. 🕊️

Let's tell the children the story of Ruby Bridges...Not as a person in a historical photograph, but as a woman who was alive and who dared to pass through great obstacles to pave the way for later children to no longer face them. ❤️
