🚨 Silence from AI! Hackers fool Meta bots, seize IG, celebrities. Just chat, talk, can be hacked?! 🚨
🚨 Silence from AI! Meta bot hacker seized a lot of celebrity IG. Just chat talk can be hacked?! 🚨
How secure do you think the AI system of the global platform is? 🤖 Meta is now facing a major security problem when the AI Support Chatbot system intended to facilitate it becomes a loophole for the uninitiated to seize Instagram accounts easily! 😱
The issue was first reported as of March 2026. Despite Meta coming out stating that it had managed to fix the problem, security researchers are still finding that the vulnerability is still practical.
How do hackers do that? 🤔
It makes a shocking use of automation gaps:
Use a VPN to change the location to match the target account's zone.
Start the password reset process and chat with Meta's AI Chatbot.
Asks the AI to do an account link to a "new email" (which belongs to the hacker).
The AI follows a simple command by sending a confirmation code to the hacker's email. When the confirmation is complete, the AI gives the password reset link, allowing the hacker to confiscate the account in full!
Who's already been affected? 📉
Several top-level accounts fell victim to it. Whether it was the Obama White House page, the account of Chief Master Sergeant of the US Space Force, including Ms. Jane Manchun Wong, a security researcher and a former Meta employee herself, who came forward to state that her password "was changed without even knowing it."
Important lesson 🛡️
NordVPN's CTO, Marijus Briedis, commented interestingly: "Companies in all sectors are turning to AI tools to replace customer service workers, which tech giants like Meta are leading this revolution, but when chatbots become too powerful without concise monitoring, they can become serious security risks."
💡 Best means of self-defense:
Experts argue that the only solution to block this vulnerability is to enable double identity authentication (2FA). Anyone who has not opened it, remember to set up your account immediately!
