When orphaned hippos can't sleep because they miss their mother...The kind nanny then did this to make him feel safe and feel the vapor again. ❤️
Authorities found him guarding his mother's body on the edge of Lake Oloiden, Kenya...A few days old little hippo supposedly left his mother trying to protect him, he was alone, confused, and longing for a warm ice that would never be touched again. 🥺
But fortunately, aid teams from Kenya's Wildlife Conservation Service and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust brought him in to take close care at an orphaned care centre in Nairobi.
The first night of 'Bumpy' was filled with terror and desolation...It wasn't until Simon, a kind nanny, decided to put his own mattress on the floor next to him that Bumpy huddled into Simon's arms under a red blanket, and that was the first time since losing his mother that Bumpy slept peacefully. 💤🛏️
Today, Bumpy grows up and lives in the Kaluku Care Center, where he has a private pond and a soft beanback cushion that is like his mother's agent, but what is indispensable is "love." He follows his nanny everywhere, screams all the time, and he is kept in the water all day. Bumpy sleeps most closely only when he sleeps with someone...
Bumpy found a new family today, and they never left Bumpy alone again. 🥰
