🇨🇳 China continues to increase its defense budget, advance a major military adjustment.

China announced the 2026 defense budget of about 1.9 trillion yuan, or about $2.75-2.81 billion, up about 7% from the previous year, and also occupies the second highest military budget in the world, after the United States.

This statement supports the improvement of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, both warships, stealth aircraft, missiles, space systems, cyber AI, and the upgrading of the nuclear arsenal. 🚢✈️🛰️

However, official figures may not fully reflect security expenditures because some items, such as military research, armed police forces, strategic infrastructure and local-level projects, may be outside the published defense statements.

📊 SIPRI estimates that China actually spends around $3.36 billion in military spending by 2025, while some series of study works offer much higher values than that, but there is still no single figure accepted by all parties, as each bureau determines its scope and how to calculate it differently.

No matter what the actual figures are, what is clear is that China is building its military capabilities and defense industries on a scale that could change the power balance of the Indo-Pacific region in the long run.
