🤖 Ukraine developed Marichka, an AI system that aims to reduce the battle planning time from several hours to a few minutes.
The Ukrainian army unveiled an intelligent information system prototype named Marichka, developed by the army's Central Research Institute, to help commanders analyze data and evaluate operational options faster.
Currently, the preparation of brigade, army, or task force level plans can take about 6-12 hours and require the collection of around 20 documents, but Marichka is designed to collect and centrally monitor data, calculate force and equipment proportions, assess resources against potential losses, and simulate the situation on an interactive 🗺️ map.
The developer likened the method to "ChatGPT-like," but working in a closed military environment, the system would offer an option to consider, not issuing command or control the battle itself, with the final decision also being the job of a human commander.
⚠️ However, Marichka is still in the Working Prototype stage and is testing with unclassified training data. The next step is to increase security, obtain permission to process the secret layer data, and prove its effectiveness before actually applying.
This is not yet an AI captain, but an analytical assistant that can speed up the decision-making cycle, because on a modern battlefield, a map that takes too long to do may be obsolete since it has not been ordered.
