... Read moreOkay, so we've talked about how Soundgoodizer is way more powerful than its meme status suggests, and how Preset A is your go-to for adding that lovely 'glue' and warmth to your mix or drum bus. But trust me, the real depth of this incredible FL Studio plugin, which is actually a streamlined version of the mighty Maximus, lies in fully understanding its other presets: B, C, and D. I've spent countless hours trying to achieve that desired 'loud and full' sound, and honestly, these other modes are where the magic truly happens for different scenarios. Let's dive into Preset B, often called the 'Aggressive Enhancer.' If your mix or individual elements feel a bit timid and need to cut through, B is your friend. Unlike A's gentle touch, Preset B applies a more pronounced compression and sometimes a bit of saturation, giving things an almost 'in-your-face' quality. I typically reach for 'B' when my drums, especially the kick and snare, aren't punching through enough, or if a bassline needs an extra snarl to really grab attention. It can be a bit much if you throw it on your master channel at a high setting, but used subtly on a drum bus or a synth lead, it can make them truly energetic and pop in the mix. Next up is Preset C, which I lovingly call the 'Gentle Master' or 'Vocal Smoother.' This preset is designed for a more transparent and smooth application of dynamics and tonal shaping. It's fantastic when you want to add presence and polish without the aggressive character of 'B.' Personally, I've found 'C' to be excellent for vocals, giving them a bit more consistency and shine without sounding over-compressed. It's also a fantastic option for a melodic bus or even on the master channel when you're aiming for a subtle, professional master that gently glues everything together without sounding squashed. It’s about finesse, enhancing the existing sound rather than drastically altering it. Finally, we have Preset D, the 'Loudness Maximizer.' This is the preset that gives you that final push towards commercial-ready loudness. It applies heavy limiting, acting almost like a brickwall limiter, making your track louder by reducing dynamic range significantly. I almost exclusively reserve 'D' for the master bus, and only when I'm looking for that absolute final push in perceived loudness. A word of caution: with 'D,' less is definitely more. Push the knob too hard, and you'll end up with a squashed, distorted mess. I learned this the hard way during my early producing days! It's about finding that sweet spot where your track sounds loud and full without losing its dynamics or clarity. One of the biggest lessons I learned about Soundgoodizer, whether you're using A to simply add warmth, B for punchy drums, C for smooth vocals, or D for final loudness, is to always listen carefully. Don't just slap it on because it's there. Experiment with the amount, try it on different individual tracks, buses, and the master. Sometimes, just a tiny tweak can elevate your mix from 'decent but a little boring' to something truly polished and vibrant. It's not a magic 'make it better' button, but when understood and applied thoughtfully, this powerful FL Studio plugin, born from the complexities of Maximus, truly is a secret weapon for achieving that professional, energetic sound.
