Fighting anxiety as a Christian 🧃
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in worrying about all the things that *could* be, we get so infatuated with the thought of “what if?” That we begin to dwell on it, instead of enjoying the present moment.

•You wouldn’t let your toddler go search the grocery store by themselves, you wouldn’t Tell them to go find the apple juice, they’d likely get lost, A toddler has never experienced a grocery store or walked within the isles or even gone shopping on their own. They can’t even see the top shelf. Any good parent would guide their toddler through the store and allow them to think that they’re helping shop, but really it’s the parent in control. A father or mother would immediately know where the apple juice is, so the child has no need to endlessly search, looking at the bottom shelf, when the apple juice is on the top.
Similarly, we don’t have the full picture of our lives. We’re not even sure what will happen within the next 10 minutes, but God has the full picture. He has seen everyone’s life and knows the exact outcome of yours. Therefore, why should we endlessly search when we don’t even have the proper vision to see the top shelf? We can let God guide us and let him show us the way. That’s the only way we can find the right apple juice.

Anxiety can often feel overwhelming, especially when we become consumed by the uncertainty of the future. For Christians, dealing with anxiety isn't just about self-help strategies; it involves faith, prayer, and understanding God's purpose. The Bible teaches us to cast our anxieties on God (1 Peter 5:7), a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles. Incorporating daily prayer and scripture meditation can significantly help in reducing feelings of anxiety. Seek guidance from God as you navigate life's uncertainties, just as a child relies on a parent's direction in the grocery store. Remember that God sees the bigger picture, even when we might feel lost. Exploring community support through church groups can also provide a comforting network, where sharing experiences with others facing similar struggles can lighten the burden. Ultimately, trusting God allows us to focus on living in the present rather than worrying about the unknown.
