What’s in my backpack

I always dedicate the largest section for my main academic items. This is where my AP Psych notebook, Latin notebook, and AP Pre-Calc binder live, stacked neatly. My Chromebook usually slides into a padded sleeve or right against my notebooks, alongside any school reading book I’m currently working through. Keeping these crucial items upright prevents them from getting bent or lost. For loose papers, my handy 'everything folder' is a lifesaver – it keeps assignments and important notes organized instead of floating around. Next, the front pockets are your best friends for quick-access items. My pencil pouch is always in an easy-to-reach spot, packed with pens, pencils, and highlighters. I also keep my essential calculator, along with a stack of flashcards for last-minute studying, and a few fun bookmarks. For personal care, a dedicated small pocket is ideal for my sanitizing spray and two small bottles of hand sanitizer, perfect for a quick refresh between classes. My go-to lip gloss, lip balm, and lip stain collection also resides here. And yes, those individually wrapped cough drops are an absolute must-have, especially during flu season! Don't forget the tiny essentials that often get lost! I’ve found that a small zippered pouch within a larger pocket is fantastic for tidying up those smaller items. This is where I stash my nail filer, a few extra hair bands, and critically, my backup phone charger and its cable. My earbuds for my Chromebook also go here so they don’t get tangled. And for a quick pick-me-up, my small lotion and fragrance spray are always tucked away but easily accessible. Don’t underestimate the power of feeling fresh throughout the day! A major pro tip for any high schooler: try to do a quick 'reset' of your backpack every evening. Take out anything you don't need for the next day, throw away any trash, and re-organize your folders and pockets. This habit makes mornings so much smoother and ensures you always know where everything is. Investing in a durable backpack with good internal organization features, much like many popular Jansport backpack styles, can seriously make a difference in how well you stay organized throughout the year.
