A time was had in Prague
During my unforgettable trip to Prague, one of the things I absolutely had on my checklist was to find that famous Starbucks with the incredible view of Prague Castle. You know, the one everyone raves about on social media! It wasn't just about grabbing a coffee; it was about soaking in one of the most picturesque scenes the city has to offer. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I remember walking towards the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) side, having just crossed the magnificent Charles Bridge. The air was crisp, and I was still marveling at the ornate stone sculptures lining the bridge, with the Vltava River flowing calmly below and the stunning historic city buildings in the background. It’s hard to miss the energy of this area. To find this specific Starbucks, you'll want to head towards Malostranské náměstí. There are a couple of Starbucks locations in the vicinity, but the one you’re looking for is often referred to as the 'Castle View' or 'Hradčany' Starbucks, specifically the one located higher up on a hill, offering an unparalleled vantage point. The trick is not to settle for the first Starbucks you see. From the Charles Bridge, you'll head into Malá Strana. Instead of walking straight into the square, look for signs or simply follow the uphill path that leads you towards the castle complex. This particular Starbucks is situated within a historic building, and its charm extends beyond just the view. Once you step inside, it feels like a cozy escape. My personal recommendation? Head straight for the upper floors or, even better, if the weather permits, grab a spot on their outdoor terrace. That’s where the magic truly happens! From my chosen spot, the panorama was absolutely stunning. Prague Castle, in all its grandeur, was perfectly framed against the sky. I could see the intricate details of St. Vitus Cathedral, the sprawling castle grounds, and even parts of the Lesser Town rooftops. It truly felt like a postcard come to life. Sipping a warm coffee while gazing at such an iconic landmark was a moment of pure bliss. It’s a fantastic place to rest your feet after exploring the busy streets and bridges, and it offers some of the best photo opportunities you can imagine. To make the most of your visit, I'd suggest going either early in the morning right after they open, or late in the afternoon, just before sunset. Early mornings mean fewer crowds and a peaceful atmosphere, while late afternoons offer that golden hour glow, making the castle look even more magnificent. Plus, watching the city lights begin to twinkle as dusk settles is an experience in itself. While the prices are standard Starbucks rates, the cost is well worth it for the unforgettable view and the chance to simply sit and absorb the beauty of Prague from such a unique perspective. Don't forget your camera, and prepare to be amazed!
