Getting a snake bites piercing has been quite an adventure so far. One thing I quickly realized is how important proper aftercare is to ensure smooth healing and prevent infection. I’ve been using a daily sea salt oral rinse, which I find excellent for soothing the piercing area and keeping it clean. It’s crucial to swab the outside gently but thoroughly twice a day after meals, as recommended on the packaging. The sea salt rinse promotes good oral hygiene and helps reduce dryness or irritation around the piercings. Initially, the pain was around a 6 out of 10, especially during eating, but by day two it dropped significantly to just a 1, which was a pleasant surprise. The long bars used for the piercings felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but they help reduce swelling and make the healing process easier. I also made sure to keep any make-up or lip tint away from the fresh piercing to avoid contamination. Despite previously wearing a strong lip tint, my piercer ensured the area was sterilized well before starting. If you’re considering snake bites or any lip piercings, I highly recommend being prepared for some initial discomfort but also following a strict cleansing routine. Avoid touching the piercings with dirty hands and refrain from changing the bars too early. Eating soft foods in the first few days helps minimize irritation.
