Because the Shadows never go away...
Because the shadows never go away,
Because the pain never truly ceases,
Because there are no true condolences,
Because the tears and sorrow never stop,
I say,
"Wishing you the happiest of memories",
Because it reminds me that I have countless, beautiful memories that overpower(just enough to breath, just for a moment) that one day of infinite loss.

Grieving is a deeply personal journey that varies significantly from one individual to another. From my own experience, I have found that while the pain and shadows of loss may never fully disappear, actively embracing joyful memories can offer moments of relief and hope. It's like finding small pockets of light in the darkness. I recall times when focusing on happy moments shared with loved ones helped me breathe easier during especially difficult days. Moreover, grief does not follow a linear path. There are days when sorrow feels overwhelming and others when memories bring a warm smile. Accepting this fluctuating nature of grief can be empowering. It’s also important to allow yourself to feel without judgment, knowing that tears and sadness are natural part of healing. In addition, creating rituals to honor those we've lost—like lighting a candle on a meaningful day or revisiting a special place—can strengthen connections to the past and provide ongoing comfort. Remembering that while the pain might be enduring, so too are the memories and love that live on. Ultimately, sharing these experiences and reflections with others can foster community and support. We find solace knowing we're not alone in our struggles, and sometimes, expressing our feelings can illuminate the path through grief. This personal acceptance and acknowledgment of both shadows and light create a space for healing over time.
