... Read moreSleeve gastrectomy, commonly known as VSG, is a life-changing bariatric surgery that involves removing a significant portion of the stomach to reduce food intake and promote weight loss. People who undergo VSG often face a demanding journey that requires dedication to new eating habits, regular exercise, and mental resilience. The phrase "SAME GIRL, 4 YEARS APART" beautifully illustrates the significant transformation that can happen over time post-surgery—not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well. Losing 135 pounds, as shared in the original story, reflects not just a number but a comprehensive shift in lifestyle. Many individuals who opt for VSG must overhaul their diet, often moving from high-calorie, processed foods to balanced meals rich in protein and nutrients to support healing and maintain muscle mass. Hydration becomes crucial, as well as eating smaller portions to accommodate the reduced stomach size. The most successful transformations tend to involve support systems, whether through medical teams, nutritionists, counselors, or supportive communities. While the journey is challenging and requires consistent effort, the improvements in physical health, energy levels, and self-confidence can be remarkable. Bariatric surgery like VSG is not a quick fix but a tool that, when combined with committed lifestyle changes, can produce lasting results. Sharing stories with hashtags such as #vsg, #weightlossandfatloss, #bariatricsurgery, #gastricsleevejourney, and #wlstransformation helps build awareness and provides encouragement for those considering or undergoing this journey. Real-life testimonies like this one inspire hope and emphasize that with hard work and dedication, profound positive change is achievable.

Congratulations!! I had a VSG in 2019. Ended up having a hiatal hernia and had gained 45lbs of the 80 I’d lost. So my Dr recommended a revision to the bypass. I’ve lost the 45 and a little more! Overall weight loss from my highest is 125lbs lost! So happy I decided on this journey! It’s been hard, but so worth it!
