Concept of Hermes The God
Did a concept of Hermes the God, he’s holding the wind bag but it got cut off. Anyways I’m gonna go back to listening to Epic The Musical now 🫣 #artistsoflemon8 #epicthemusical
When I decided to create a concept for Hermes, I knew I wanted to go for an anime style that really emphasized his role as the god of agility. It's not just about speed; it's about that quick wit, the effortless movement, and the way he embodies communication and journeys. I aimed to make him look like he could just zoom off the page! For this illustration, I focused on some key visual elements to bring out his personality. I imagined his dark, messy hair with those striking golden accents, giving him a divine yet approachable vibe. And that smirk? Absolutely essential for Hermes, reflecting his playful and sometimes trickster nature. It's all about making these ancient figures feel alive and relatable in a modern art style. I really concentrated on the flow of his white toga, trying to make it look like it's caught in a breeze, hinting at his constant motion. Even the yellow object, what I pictured as his wind bag, was meant to add to that sense of dynamic energy, even though it ended up partially cut off in the final composition. Sometimes those happy accidents happen in art, right? The background was also a deliberate choice. I went with an orange palette and abstract shapes to give it a vibrant, almost energetic aura, which I felt perfectly matched Hermes' lively spirit. It's like a burst of divine energy surrounding him, really making the character pop. Exploring 'Hermes anime' interpretations is always fascinating, and I love seeing how different artists bring him to life. For me, it's about pushing the boundaries of traditional mythology with a contemporary twist, while still respecting the core attributes that make him the iconic god he is. It's a fantastic way to keep these stories fresh and engaging for a new generation of fans!
