I started duolingo when im travelling to Korea

💬 language 💬

‼️consistent is key‼️ to picking up the language

on my recent trip to jpn, our friend who has been learning Japanese through duolingo for ✨3 years✨ was basically our translator

we went to a less touristy place for ski and that area has very limited English speaking staff

📖 tldr, another friend dislocated his shoulder & had to visit the hospital. our ✨3 years duolingoer✨ communicated with the taxi driver, resort staffs & hospital staffs too mostly in Japanese

🫶🏼 duolingo is v beginner friendly

🫶🏼 v gamified

🫶🏼 v cute

I love it that i can pick up other skills (such as chess) too!

sometimes when im bored, i find myself opening the app, play chess/ reviewing the language

🫣 also this is not an ad 🫣

Im j thinking what to journal and thought this is not too bad 🤣🤣🤣

alrighto,

... Read moreUsing Duolingo during my travels has truly transformed the way I approach language learning and cultural experiences. When I first started the app before my trip to Korea, I wasn't fluent by any means, but picking up key phrases and basic understanding made me feel more confident and connected. It’s amazing how even a little bit of effort makes a difference in daily interactions — like when a taxi uncle asked if I was Korean, I couldn’t help but laugh and feel flattered. One tip I’ve learned is that consistency is key. Whether it’s a quick five minutes a day or completing daily quests, keeping the habit alive keeps your skills sharp. I found the AI-powered review features especially helpful for reinforcing weak topics, which made my learning more focused and efficient. The gamified elements and cute interface of Duolingo really keep motivation high. When I had downtime, I often opened the app not just for language practice but also to play chess — Duolingo offers diverse skills you can explore. This casual engagement helped me stay in the learning mindset without pressure. Another memorable experience was traveling in Japan with a friend who used Duolingo for three years. His ability to communicate with locals, taxi drivers, and even hospital staff in Japanese saved us from many tricky situations, like when another friend dislocated his shoulder. This showed me the real-life value of long-term language commitment. For anyone serious about learning a language, I highly recommend considering Super Duolingo. The subscription offers unlimited hearts allowing uninterrupted practice, removes ads for a smoother experience, and has regular challenges to keep you engaged. I got it on a deal for $17 a year, and it was worth every cent for accelerating my learning. If you’re planning to travel or want to add a fun, educational hobby to your routine, don’t hesitate to give Duolingo a try. It’s beginner-friendly, easy to access, and surprisingly rewarding. Whether you want to get a taste of a new culture or eventually speak like a local, starting with a little daily effort goes a long way.
