Hobby hunting
Now I’ve always been the weird horse girl but I’ve only recently been able to ride horses a few years ago.
One thing I have learned is that this is a very expensive hobby!! ðŸ¤

When I first started horseback riding, I was captivated by the bond I could form with these magnificent animals, but it quickly became clear that the hobby extends beyond just enjoying the ride—it demands serious financial commitment. From my personal experience, the costs start with basic essentials like well-fitted boots and a proper riding helmet to ensure safety. Then, there’s the investment in tack, including the horse's bit, saddle, and reins, which need to be of good quality to ensure comfort and control. Add to that regular expenses like boarding, feeding, veterinary care, and lessons, and the budget can quickly skyrocket. What I found particularly challenging was balancing my enthusiasm for the hobby with financial reality. It made me more mindful about budgeting and prioritizing what gear and services were absolutely necessary versus what was nice to have. I also learned to explore second-hand markets and local equestrian communities to find more affordable options without compromising quality. Beyond the financial aspects, diving into equestrian life has been incredibly rewarding. It taught me patience, responsibility, and gave me a sense of connection to an animal that requires trust and care. For anyone considering taking up horseback riding, I recommend doing thorough research on all possible costs and perhaps starting with lessons or riding schools before investing heavily. This hobby has made me appreciate that passion often comes with price, but with careful planning and genuine love for the activity, it’s an enriching experience worth every penny.
