the cutest summer braids 🫧

Bubble braids are one of my favorite summer hairstyles—they're so cute, fun, and surprisingly easy to recreate!

Start by parting your hair into two sections. Secure each section with an elastic at the top, then continue adding elastics every inch or so down the length of your hair. Once they're all in place, gently tug on each section of hair between the elastics, starting at the top and working your way down, until the bubbles are as full as you'd like.

I already know I'll be wearing this one on repeat all summer ☀️

What I love the most is how simple they are to create, yet they instantly add a playful and stylish vibe to your look. When trying out this style, I recommend using small, snag-free elastic hair ties like the ones from Scunci — they hold the hair firmly without causing damage or breakage. Start by dividing your hair into two even sections. After securing each section at the top, continue placing elastic bands evenly down the length of your hair about an inch apart. The key to that iconic bubble effect is gently tugging at the hair between each elastic, which makes the hair puff out like little bubbles. You can customize the size of these bubbles depending on your preference, making the style versatile for casual outings or more dressed-up summer events. An added tip is to lightly mist your hair with a texturizing spray before starting. This will give your strands more grip, preventing the elastics from slipping, especially if your hair is very silky or fine. Plus, this style works beautifully on both straight and curly hair. I find bubble braids super comfortable, and they keep hair off the neck, which is a blessing on hot days. You can even accessorize by adding colorful ribbons, beads, or charms to the elastics for extra flair. For those looking to protect their hair, bubble braids also minimize friction and tangling compared to traditional braids or ponytails. Overall, bubble braids are an effortless way to refresh your summer hair game, and once you get the hang of it, you’ll want to rock this look on repeat all season long!
