Full glam but natural makeup

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So many of you asked about my 'natural full glam' look, and I'm thrilled to dive deeper into how I achieve this perfect balance of effortless and polished. It’s truly my go-to for when I want to feel put-together without looking overly made up – that 'NATURAL FULL GLAM' vibe we all love! First off, what is natural full glam? For me, it's about enhancing your features beautifully, not masking them. It means flawless-looking skin, defined eyes, and a healthy glow, all while maintaining that 'you, but better' feel. It's a full face, yes, but with strategic product choices and application techniques that keep it looking fresh and light. Here’s a breakdown of my routine to get that 'everyday makeup black girl' glow: 1. Skin Prep is Key! Before any makeup, I always start with a hydrating serum and a good moisturizer. This creates a smooth canvas and helps my makeup sit beautifully. Lately, I've been loving a glowy primer to really boost that natural radiance from underneath. 2. Light-Handed Base Instead of a heavy foundation, I opt for a medium-coverage, skin-like foundation or even a tinted moisturizer. I apply it sparingly, focusing on areas where I need the most coverage, and blend it out with a damp beauty sponge. For concealer, I go in with a shade close to my skin tone to brighten under my eyes and spot conceal any blemishes, tapping it gently to melt it into my skin. The goal is to let your skin still look like skin! 3. Defined Eyes, Naturally For eyes, I keep it simple but effective. A neutral brown or warm-toned shadow in the crease adds definition without being too dramatic. A thin line of brown or black liquid liner along the lash line, winged out slightly, gives a subtle lift. And of course, multiple coats of a volumizing mascara are a must! Sometimes, I'll add individual lashes for a bit more oomph, but nothing too heavy. 4. Warmth & Glow Blush is essential for bringing life back to the face. I prefer cream or liquid blushes in warm berry or terracotta shades, applied to the apples of my cheeks and blended upwards. Then, a touch of liquid or powder highlighter on the high points of my face – cheekbones, brow bone, and cupid's bow – gives that luminous, sunkissed effect. It's all about that healthy, lit-from-within glow! 5. Perfect Pout I usually finish with a nude lip liner, a comfortable matte lipstick in a complementary shade, and a high-shine gloss right in the center of my lips. This makes my lips look fuller and adds to the overall polished yet natural feel of the look. This routine ensures that even with a 'full glam' approach, the makeup feels light, looks natural, and perfectly suits an 'everyday makeup' vibe. It's all about finding products that work for your skin and tones, especially for us Black girls who know the struggle of finding the perfect shades! Give it a try and let me know how it goes! ✨
