... Read moreOkay, so let's really dive into the Native x Dunkin Strawberry Frosted scent, especially since it seems many of you are curious about it! When I first saw these hair care products – the shampoo and conditioner – on the shelf, I was SO excited. A Strawberry Frosted scent from Dunkin? I pictured something sweet, creamy, maybe like a fresh strawberry donut glaze with a hint of vanilla. You know, that comforting, delicious aroma that makes you want to reach for a real donut! But, my experience with the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner was... well, a bit different. As I mentioned in my quick review, for me, this scent was a hard pass. It had a surprisingly strong, almost artificial, and decidedly sour note. It wasn't the pleasant, sugary strawberry I'd hoped for. Instead, it leaned more towards a tart berry that had perhaps gone a little past its prime, mixed with something less appealing. It felt less like a frosting and more like a synthetic candy that missed the mark. I know scents are super subjective, right? What smells amazing to one person can be overpowering or just 'off' to another. Maybe my nose is just sensitive to certain artificial strawberry notes, but I kept hoping it would mellow out once I rinsed my hair, but it just lingered in a way I didn't enjoy. For a moisturizing product, I want the scent to enhance the experience, making my shower feel like a little treat. This one, unfortunately, didn't hit that mark for me. If you're someone who loves very tart, almost tangy fruit scents, or perhaps you're looking for something that isn't overly sweet, this might actually be your jam! But if you're like me, hoping for that classic, sweet, and comforting strawberry donut aroma, you might find yourself a little disappointed. It definitely gets a 2/10 rating from me, as seen in the images – a rare miss for Native in my book! Now, if the Strawberry Frosted isn't calling your name, don't despair! The Native x Dunkin collection still has some gems. For instance, the Boston Kreme scent was a delightful surprise. It truly captures that rich, chocolatey, vanilla custard vibe that's so iconic. I could definitely see myself reaching for that for a cozy shower experience. And the Blueberry Cobbler? Wow, I was skeptical at first since I'm not usually a huge blueberry scent person, but this one was sweet and comforting without being cloying. It had a lovely warmth to it that made it really pleasant. Both of these are fantastic alternatives if the Strawberry Frosted doesn't win you over. It's always a good idea to do a quick sniff test in the store if you can – especially for scents like these that are so unique! You can often find these limited-edition collections at places like Walmart. Don't be afraid to try different scents within a collection, because your next favorite 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner or body wash might be just around the corner, even if one particular scent isn't for you!
