Penny shopping!!

Dollar Tree penny finds!! 🤯

I skipped Dollar Tree last week because so many other stores were running 90% off clearance, but today I had some time to kill and stopped by a Dollar Tree near me… and WOW 😍

I grabbed a ton of hair accessories for $0.25 last month, but I was still able to find so much today for a penny!

Departments I checked:

⭐️ Hair accessories

⭐️ Books (not all)

⭐️ School supplies

⭐️ Crafts

⭐️ Front end

And there’s even more included, I just didn’t have time to check every department!

⚠️ Important: Dollar Tree’s official policy is NOT to sell penny items. HOWEVER, a separate policy was released stating that “clearance event items”(the ones that were $0.25 last month) can now be sold for $0.01.

The cashier did ask for manager approval today. I know some employees may refuse to sell penny items, if that happens, politely ask them to check with a manager or district manager. If they still say no, unfortunately it’s just an L we have to take. 😩💔

Happy hunting! 🛒✨

... Read moreHey fellow deal hunters! After my last amazing Dollar Tree penny shopping trip, where I snagged everything from craft stencils to storage bins for just a single cent, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how you can also unearth these incredible finds. It’s not just luck; there’s a method to the penny madness! First off, what exactly is penny shopping at Dollar Tree? Essentially, it's finding items that have been marked down to $0.01. These aren't officially advertised sales but are usually clearance items that haven't sold, and the system automatically drops their price. It's exhilarating when you find them! My recent haul included a navy collapsible storage container, ramen sticky notes, and even kid-sized disposable aprons – all for a penny each. Imagine the savings! So, how do you maximize your chances? Timing is key. Penny items often appear shortly after major holidays or seasonal events when stores are clearing out old inventory. Think post-Christmas, after Valentine's Day, or once summer seasonal items are done. While Dollar Tree doesn't officially endorse penny sales, many stores participate in these unofficial markdowns to move product. Always be respectful of the staff; they're just doing their job. Next, arm yourself with tools. A price checker is your best friend! Every Dollar Tree store has price scanners, and you'll want to use them liberally. Don't be shy; grab an item you suspect might be a penny item and scan it. Sometimes, even if it's not a penny, it might be a quarter! I found a ton of hair accessories like scrunchies and clips for $0.25 last month, and this trip, I even found nail polish with a donut-shaped file for a penny. The OCR results from my photos show how crucial scanning is – it confirmed those adorable 'Wish Home' stickers and wooden unicorn cutouts were indeed $0.01! When you're in the store, don't just stick to the main aisles. Wander through different departments. As I mentioned in my original post, I always check hair accessories, school supplies, crafts, and even the front-end impulse buy sections. But don't forget party supplies and seasonal aisles after a holiday – that's where many of these treasures hide. Look for items that seem out of place, or those with older packaging. Sometimes, the 'Squishy Surprise' packages are full price, but a similar item might be a penny! A crucial tip: be prepared for variations. What's a penny item at one Dollar Tree might not be at another, even in the same town. Store inventory and markdown schedules can differ. If a cashier is unsure, politely ask them to check with a manager. Persistence (and politeness!) can sometimes pay off, but if they say no, it's just part of the game. It's all about the thrill of the hunt, right? Keep an eye out for specific brands or lines that often go on clearance. 'Crafter's Square' items, for instance, are often great candidates, as my stencil wheel find proves. And remember, the goal isn't just to buy cheap stuff, but to find genuinely useful or fun items you'll love. Happy penny hunting everyone, I can't wait to hear about your amazing Dollar Tree finds!
