Split ➡️ Hvar ➡️ Korcula ➡️ Dubrovnik is the perfect island route. Save this for your Croatia itinerary 🇭🇷 #croatiatravel

2025/10/29 Edited to

... Read moreAfter countless hours of planning, I finally embarked on what I truly believe is the ultimate Croatia island-hopping adventure, and I can't wait to share why it was so incredible! Starting in vibrant Split and making our way through the stunning islands of Hvar and Korčula, before concluding in the majestic city of Dubrovnik, this route offers an unparalleled mix of history, natural beauty, and pure relaxation. While Split offers ancient Roman charm and Hvar boasts lively nightlife and beautiful beaches, I have to say, Korčula was a real standout for me. Seriously, don't forget Korčula on your Croatia itinerary! The moment I arrived, I was captivated by the clear turquoise water that surrounds this historic island. It's truly a sight to behold, perfect for swimming and soaking up the sun. The coastal town itself feels like stepping back in time. I loved wandering through the narrow stone alleyways, discovering hidden gems around every corner. One evening, after exploring the impressive circular stone fortress walls, I stumbled upon a sign for "KONOBA Adio Mare since 1974" pointing to a "TERRACE ENTRANCE." The thought of enjoying fresh seafood with such a long history was incredibly appealing. Everywhere you look, from the ornate stone staircase leading up to old buildings with white-shuttered windows to the picturesque views of red-roofed buildings nestled on hillsides, Korčula exudes charm. Even seeing the grand "HOTEL KORČULA" with its arched windows made me appreciate the island's elegance. It truly felt like a peaceful escape, a stark contrast to some of the busier spots, yet with plenty to explore. Finally, finishing the journey in Dubrovnik was the perfect grand finale. Walking the ancient city walls and taking in the breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea felt like a dream. For anyone planning their own Croatian escape, here are a few tips I picked up along the way: Getting Around: Ferries and catamarans are your best friends for island hopping. Book tickets in advance, especially during peak season, to avoid disappointment. I found that planning my ferry schedule a few days ahead made the transitions super smooth. Best Time to Visit: I personally loved late spring (May/June) or early autumn (September/October). The weather is still fantastic, but the crowds are smaller, making it easier to enjoy the sights and those beautiful beaches. What to Pack: Definitely bring comfortable walking shoes for exploring historical towns, swimwear for those irresistible turquoise waters, and a good sunhat! A lightweight jacket for cooler evenings is also a good idea. Embrace the Local Culture: Don't be afraid to try local delicacies. I discovered some amazing fresh seafood and local wines that truly enhanced my experience. Chat with the locals; they often have the best recommendations for hidden spots. This route isn't just about visiting places; it's about experiencing the heart of Croatia. From the ancient history of Split, the vibrant energy of Hvar, the tranquil beauty and rich history of Korčula, to the iconic splendor of Dubrovnik, it's an itinerary that promises unforgettable memories. I can genuinely say it was one of the best trips I've ever taken!

Croatia really is the perfect summer spot! I traveled to hvar, split, and Dubrovnik. Each place has so much culture and beauty in it. Split you get more of an old town city feel and good night life. Where as hvar you get an island feel. I would recommend going to all three of these for a summer vac
