Did you know you can make pretzels with crescent roll dough?! I just tried this tonight and it came out great! My boyfriend really enjoyed these with our breakfast bowls for dinner and we will definitely have these again! After trying the viral pretzels made with biscuit dough, I thought I would try crescent roll dough! I do not remember the content creators name who had posted the video of the Pillsberry dough pretzels that he made but that is where I got the idea from! Let me give credit where it is due!☺️ These are great on their own or would even be good with some chicken salad or any topping you think may be tasty!

~INGREDIENTS:

-Crescent roll dough

-Baking soda

-Water

-Sea salt

~DIRECTIONS:

-Preheat oven to 350. Halfway through I switched to 400 and next time I think I may stick with 375. Just make you you frequently check your rolls to make sure they don’t burn. Boil water and add 2-3 tablespoons baking soda. Dissolve. Add dough for about 10-13 seconds. Put on baking tray and top with sea salt or salt of choice. You could even talk with shredded cheese! Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Watch the tops get that nice brown pretzel color!

Most importantly, enjoy! We sure did!😊

... Read moreI recently experimented with making pretzels using crescent roll dough, and it turned out to be a game changer for quick and easy homemade pretzels. What’s great about this method is that it requires minimal ingredients—just crescent roll dough, baking soda, water, and sea salt—making it accessible even on short notice. One thing I learned from this experience is the importance of monitoring oven temperature closely. The original recipe suggests preheating at 350°F but switching to 400°F midway, yet I found 375°F works best for even browning without burning. The key step is boiling the dough briefly in water mixed with baking soda; this alkaline bath creates that distinct pretzel crust. Just 10 to 13 seconds in the baking soda solution is enough to achieve that texture. I also experimented with toppings beyond sea salt. Sprinkling shredded cheddar cheese on top before baking added a deliciously savory twist and made the pretzels even more satisfying. These pretzels paired wonderfully with savory breakfast bowls or a light chicken salad for a quick meal. If you love soft pretzels but want a faster alternative to making dough from scratch, trying crescent roll dough is definitely worth it. It’s an easy way to enjoy warm, homemade pretzels without the wait. Plus, this recipe invites creativity—you can add your favorite herbs, spices, or cheeses to customize the flavor to your liking. Overall, turning crescent roll dough into soft pretzels is a fun, simple kitchen hack that delivers great taste and can impress friends and family alike. I’m excited to keep experimenting with different toppings and dipping sauces to make this quick recipe even better!
