Smart home, my home.

The "Self-Thinking" One-Story Home: From One Wi-Fi Bulb to ~ 40 Smart Home (Tuya + Google Assistant + Solar)

The starting point of this house was very simple - the only Wi-Fi light bulb. In an age when the home Internet was just booming, every house started to have its own router. I tried to switch from a simple switch to an app. When the light came on from the fingertips, the question immediately arose:

"If the light bulb can... can't anything else in the house?"

The real thrust is not high-tech, but the people in the house, especially the elderly, who sometimes forget to turn off the lights or have to walk to the bathroom in the dark at the risk of falling, so I started learning from the Internet and YouTube and took action a little bit at a time, emphasizing "practical" rather than showtech. To this day, the whole house is automated with about 40 IoT (OIT) devices, covering lights, plugs, sensors, air, TCL, TVs, Android boxes and air quality systems.

---

House layout: One floor but two, joined by a central hall.

My house is two single floors connected by a central door, so the living space is as long and wide as a two-story house, so the order has to be "zoned" to not be confused. I named it in the app to be easy to call and command accurately.

Front Home-Left / Front Home-Right

Central hall (two connecting points)

Left-Right Wing Corridor / Back Kitchen / Bedroom A-B

Naming Read and Understand in 1 Second Allows Google Assistant to hear about and share immediately with members of the home.

---

Select platforms and devices

The main system frame is on Tuya (sharing rights to the whole family).

Voice / app and control from outside

The device has both Wi-Fi / Bluetooth (at some points) and is slowly planning to add Zigbee to the point of wanting it to be stable and eat low beam.

Featured Devices: Air TCL, TV, Android Box, Smart Plug / Switch, Smart Bulb, Motion Sensor, PM2.5 Sensor

> Note: I have set up a Home Assistant server before, but now it is mainly through Tuya + Google Assistant because it is easy for everyone in the house.

---

Automation at "Home Thinking for Us"

1) Welcome Home (Seamless Home Entry)

Just turn the head of the car into the garage, the reception system starts working - the headlights are immediately attached, and then the entrance hall and corridor are lit as the respective zones we walk through. Open any doors first. The zone is attached first. When you enter the house, the system will dim / turn off the unnecessary lights for yourself. (Night, set the brightness down so that you don't lose your eyes)

2) Night Path (Night Path)

From 22: 00 to 05: 30, if the passage sensor catches motion, the light is automatically lit at 30-50%. When you see the way, the elderly do not need to grope the switch.

3) Automatic bathroom

Exhaust Fan Self-Turn On-OFF As Use, Reduces Odor and Humidity, Without Reaching for a Switch

4) Air-Guard (PM2.5)

Attach the PM2.5 sensor in the house. If the dust / smoke charge (such as kitchen cooking / smoke), the system will immediately order the exhaust fan and drain until the value returns to normal.

5) Goodnight

Order a single word, turn off the lights on both sides, leaving only dimmer lights in the bathroom / corridor for safety.

6) Away Helper

Exit 10 minutes from home. Alert system if any lights are still on with "All Off" button

7) Pre-Cool

10-15 minutes before home, open the air conditioner only to use. Encourage comfortable entry to the house without wasting the power.

8) All-Off / Scene Included

There are "Close the Whole House" and "Morning-Evening" scenes. Press / finish one sound.

---

Energy: Two sets of solar. Worth used.

Solar Main (No Battery) Per Royal Light Mixer, Only Use Daylight, Reduces Strong Sun Range Light

Solar Small Set + Car Battery For Fan / TV In Case Of Fire Drop or Emergency

The advantages are low initial cost, easy care and expandable in the future.

---

The "this house" thing is real.

Safer: The Passage Brightens Itself, Seniors Don't Have to Walk in the Dark

More convenient: Voice / mobile task command all zones and control from outside the home.

Save Up: Daylight Solar + Auto Lights, Reduce Unnecessary Dump Opening

Peace Up: Checking the Whole Back Status All Over. Share Control for Family to Help Take Care of

---

Lessons I want to leave

1. Start with one real problem (for example, light forgets off / dark corridors) and solve it with one device - gradually expands.

2. Clearly name the zone / device to make the sound accurate and easy to share in the house.

3. Pay more attention to stability and ease of use than gimmicks.

4. Sensor + Automation is the heart - let the house "think for us" about what humans like to forget.

5. All by learning ourselves from the Internet and YouTube and then applying it to our home layout, piece by piece, zone by zone.

---

Summary

This house is not smart because it is full of gadgets, but smart because it knows its own function: the house headlights stick as soon as the car turns in, the walkway is bright as a zone along the pace, the bathroom vents itself, the air inside is monitored with a PM2.5, and everything turns off softly when not needed - all to make the elderly safer, everyone more convenient, and the cost of the lights more cost-effective.

From now on, I will gradually tell you how to choose Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Zigbee, 5 default automation formulas, and hundreds of budget guides per zone to follow in a Thai home.
