Having visited multiple times, I can say that the mix of lush forests, dramatic cliffs, and pristine sandy beaches creates endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation. Whether you're hiking through the dense greenery of places like Ecola State Park or simply watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from Cannon Beach, the experience is always breathtaking. One of my favorite activities along this coast is exploring the tide pools during low tide – you can find fascinating marine life like starfish, anemones, and crabs right at your feet. Don't miss the iconic Haystack Rock, which is not only a great photo spot but also a protected habitat for many shorebirds. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, the Oregon Coast offers trails with varying difficulty levels that reward you with panoramic viewpoints. Plus, the local coastal towns are charming and full of friendly people, excellent seafood, and unique shops. Planning your visit during shoulder seasons can help avoid crowds and enhance your connection with nature. I spent 10 days roadtripping the states of Oregon and parts of Washington . Of those, we spent a couple of days driving the Oregon Coast, and honestly, it’s one of the most , if not the best, scenic drives in the U.S. I had this on my bucket list for many years and I cant wait to go back.
