🔍 BASIC PYTHON: Check the subtext in String!
Verifying if there is a word or phrase we want in the main text is a very common function to manage String! 🧵
💡 How to determine the existence of Substrings:
• 1.Check "There" (Is Present): Use the keyword in
• We can use if "word" in my _ string: to keep the code running when the word is found.
• If using print ("word" in my _ string), the result will be True or False immediately.
• 2.Check "None" (Is NOT Present): Use the keyword not in
• We can use if "word" is not in my _ string: to make the code work when the word is not found.
• Example in the picture: Checking "expensive" is not in a sentence that says "The best things in life are free!" will be True (because the word "expensive" is not found).
🚀 Benefits of use:
This technique is very useful in writing Conditional Logic conditions, such as checking if the email has an "@" sign, checking if the password has a number, or checking profanity in the text, etc.
Using in and not in makes our Python code much shorter and easier to read!
ใน Python การตรวจสอบข้อความย่อย (substring) ใน String ถือเป็นหนึ่งในฟังก์ชันพื้นฐานที่ช่วยให้การจัดการข้อความมีประสิทธิภาพและยืดหยุ่นมากขึ้น เทคนิคหลักที่ใช้คือการใช้คีย์เวิร์ด in และ not in เพื่อเช็คว่าข้อความที่ต้องการนั้นมีอยู่ใน String หรือไม่ เช่น การใช้คำสั่ง if "free" in txt หรือ if "expensive" not in txt จะคืนค่าเป็น True หรือ False ตามผลลัพธ์ที่เกิดขึ้นจริง นอกจากนี้ เทคนิคนี้ยังช่วยพัฒนาเงื่อนไขของโปรแกรม (Conditional Logic) ได้หลากหลาย เช่น การตรวจสอบว่าอีเมลมีเครื่องหมาย @ หรือไม่, ตรวจสอบความปลอดภัยของพาสเวิร์ดว่ามีตัวเลขหรือไม่ หรือใช้ตรวจสอบคำหยาบในข้อความเพื่อกรองข้อมูลก่อนแสดงผล การใช้ in และ not in จึงช่วยให้โค้ดเขียนง่าย อ่านง่าย และประหยัดเวลาได้มาก จาก OCR ของตัวอย่างภาพในบทความ เทคนิคดังกล่าวถูกแสดงให้เห็นอย่างชัดเจน เช่น การเช็คคำว่า "free" ภายในข้อความ "The best things in life are free!" จะได้ค่า True เพราะพบคำว่า "free" ในข้อความ ส่วนคำว่า "expensive" ไม่พบในข้อความเดียวกันจึงได้ค่า True จาก not in ที่กำหนดไว้ สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจพัฒนาโปรแกรมด้วย Python ควรฝึกฝนการใช้งาน substring นี้ให้คล่องแคล่วเพื่อประหยัดเวลาในการเขียนโค้ดและเพิ่มความน่าอ่านแก่โค้ด รวมถึงควรศึกษาเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับ String methods อื่น ๆ ของ Python เพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถในการจัดการข้อความ เช่น .find(), .startswith(), .endswith() ซึ่งจะช่วยขยายขีดความสามารถของการตรวจสอบข้อความได้อย่างครบถ้วน สุดท้าย การเลือกใช้ in และ not in เป็นเทคนิคที่เหมาะกับงานทั่วไปและรวดเร็วมาก แต่ถ้าต้องการความแม่นยำหรือการประมวลผลที่ซับซ้อน อาจพิจารณาใช้ Regular Expressions (re module) เพื่อค้นหาหรือจัดการข้อความในรูปแบบที่ยืดหยุ่นขึ้นได้เช่นกัน
