Buying a flight the Day of

Due to a family emergency I had to fly to Nashville! I kept refreshing Google flights to see if I could get a last minute deal and luckily, I was able to get a direct flight on United! I should’ve taken a screenshot but at about 1 pm, American, Southwest and United all had 1-way flights for $223.
