Dear Lemon8rs that read my post,
My sling is so weird I did one of those skincare test with lemon 8 they said I have combination skin which makes sense but I think mine is seasonal. My skin is super oily during summer but really dry during winter so that is interesting. My biggest secret is gel moisturizer for summer and cream moisturizer for the winter.
This summer because of surgery it was something that I focused on, I also scar really easily so I use scar gel and it definitely works. This photo was my skin at one of its worst
Summer is a challenging season for skin care, especially for those with combination skin. The heat and humidity often lead to increased oil production, while the sun can cause dehydration and irritation. It's crucial to adapt your skincare routine to meet these seasonal challenges. One of the key strategies is to choose lightweight, gel-based moisturizers that hydrate without clogging pores. These gel moisturizers can help control oiliness while providing necessary hydration. For those with a tendency to develop scars, incorporating a scar gel can also be beneficial as it aids in healing and maintaining skin appearance. Regular exfoliation is essential during summer too; it helps remove dead skin cells and prevents clogged pores, which can exacerbate breakouts. SPF is non-negotiable during the summer months. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays and prevents premature aging. Remember to reapply every two hours when outdoors. Additionally, incorporate antioxidant-rich serums, like vitamin C, to defend against environmental damage, enhancing your skin's resilience. Staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy diet rich in vitamins and minerals also significantly impacts your skin's health. Foods like berries, leafy greens, and nuts can support your skin from the inside out. Outdoor activities are wonderful during the summer, but be mindful of applying skincare products suited to your needs, particularly post-surgery. Tailoring your skincare routine to address seasonal changes can lead to vibrant, healthier skin all summer long.
