SPRING & SUMMER NAIL INSPIRATION

Some of my spring nails lately-

Been doing my own nails for about a year now. I genuinely love the process and the creativity of it!

PS I forget to take pics immediately after doing my nails so a lot of these pics are a week or two after they were done + I’m horrible about applying cuticle oil, but overall still happy with how they look considering it’s DIY

All of the products I use are from Amazon and compared to going to the salon and paying $150+ tip, it’s super affordable to diy at home!

I’ve also been doing my mom & sister’s nails!

After a year of doing my own GelX nails at home, I've really fallen in love with the process of experimenting with different looks for every season. Beyond just saving a ton of money compared to salon visits (seriously, all my favorite products are Amazon finds!), it's the ultimate creative outlet. For spring, I absolutely adore playing with bright colors and delicate floral nail art. You saw some of my attempts with red and pink flowers – they instantly bring a smile to my face! If you're looking to try something similar, don't be afraid to mix and match. One tip I've learned is that even if your freehand isn't perfect, small dots or simple strokes can create really charming abstract designs. Think about pastel pinks, sunny oranges, and fresh greens for that ultimate spring vibe. I recently saw some gorgeous spring nails using a vibrant mix of these shades, and it totally inspired my next set! Moving into summer, the possibilities are endless! I've been obsessed with summer matte nail designs lately. That matte lavender set with the little white daisy floral design was a personal favorite. Matte topcoats just give your nails such a sophisticated, understated elegance, even with bright colors underneath. Another trend I've been eyeing for "street nails inspo" is incorporating playful patterns like the green checkerboard pattern you saw. It’s surprisingly easy to achieve with striping tape or even just a thin brush. And for those really specific, fun ideas? Believe it or not, you can totally tackle things like Pikmin nail stickers or lucky charms nails at home! Decals and stickers are a game-changer for intricate designs you might not want to paint by hand. They’re super affordable online and can instantly transform a simple base coat into a themed masterpiece. Imagine a cute Pikmin decal on an accent nail with a bright, solid color on the others – so adorable for summer! Even for more complex ideas like dream catcher nail art, you can simplify it. Start with a neutral or gradient base, then use a fine-tipped pen or thin brush to draw a simple web design. Adding tiny dots and a few painted 'feathers' can give you that bohemian feel without needing professional skills. For fun holidays like St. Paddy's Day nails, I always think about playful green glitters or subtle shamrock decals. It’s all about having fun and letting your creativity flow without the pressure of perfection. Remember, practice makes perfect, and every DIY set is a step towards mastering your technique. Don't forget that cuticle oil and a good top coat for longevity. Happy painting!
